Parish Slogan : "Rooted in Jesus."
Affiliated with the Anglican Church of Canada, in the Diocese of Algoma, the church family at St. Thomas' is a Christian community united by our common love for Jesus and love for one another in Christ. It is our goal to help our members accept Christ as the Lord of their lives, commit themselves to Him, and allow Him to fill them with his Holy Spirit, empowering them for active service in His Name.
St. Thomas' is located in the heart of Westfort in the City of Thunder Bay. It is an active mid-sized parish with a broad range of age groups: from newborns and toddlers who populate our nursery, to children who give life to our Sunday School, to youth who run an active fellowship group, and to adults from youth to seniors who serve in the various functions of the church. St. Thomas' has a strong focus on families, with many spanning multiple generations. The church also has great diversity, with members of a wide range of professions and from many places of origin in the region, the province, the country and around the world.
St. Thomas' is a church committed to mutual ministry. Our layreaders, eucharistic assistants, choir and organist, assist our Rector, the Venerable Andrew Hoskin, with worship services. There are a large number of groups providing opportunities for fellowship, learning and spiritual growth. The church seeks to be a community of prayer, led by the Holy Spirit, following the Word of God, and witnessing to the Christian life by both word and action.
